Overview
Timmons Group completed a U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Environmental Assessment (EA) in accordance with 24 CFR Part 58 to analyze the environmental effects of the proposed construction of a permanent, mechanically powered floodgate system and related drainage/flood improvements on approximately 3.5-acres to prevent future flood occurrences, primarily associated with hurricanes, through a CSX railroad underpass beneath Interstate 95. The City of Lumberton was awarded Community Development Block Grant-Disaster Recovery funding for the project. The HUD EA was prefaced by the completion of an ASTM Standard E 1527-13 Phase I ESA.
