Overview
Timmons Group assisted the Greensville County Water and Sewer Authority with engineering services for the Three Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant. In tandem with the Timmons Group Economic Services division, we collaborated efforts to aid in the planning and ultimate expansion of the Authority’s utility services to effectively serve a site to be developed for a future industrial user. This strategic utility planning included an upgrade design for the treatment facility from a 0.75 to a 2.0 MGD treatment capacity. The 2.0 MGD facility required nutrient removal measures, as well as design considerations for the continued stringent removal of metals. Timmons Group worked closely with the Authority to evaluate both reliably effective and operationally feasible technologies to meet these anticipated discharge limits. Timmons Group has also worked to determine effective methods for either incremental upgrades, or effective repurposing, of the majority of the existing infrastructure in order to keep construction costs minimized.
Additionally, all water and wastewater operational needs were provided for Greensville County Water and Sewer Authority. During the design process, Timmons Group worked side by side with the client for all data gathering, influent/effluent testing, process control as well as chemical additions. Several process controls recommendations are currently being implemented to date.
A licensed operator was provided on a weekly basis, to implement the overall analysis for both the future design of Three Creek as well as daily influent flow issue with their collection system.
