Overview

Stonebridge is a public-private redevelopment project between Chesterfield County and Charlotte based Crosland Southeast, LLC. The project in Chesterfield County was the site of the former Cloverleaf Mall. Opened in 1972, the 700,000 SF regional mall was the first of its kind in the Richmond metro area; however after years of decline, the County purchased the site in 2004. As new development prospered elsewhere throughout the metro area, the mall closed its doors forever in early 2008. Chesterfield County recognized the gateway potential that the property had and solicited for development partners to revitalize the site and kick off a revitalization effort of the Midlothian corridor. Partnering with Crosland Southeast, the team led an ambitious effort to redevelop the outdated mall and the entire 82 AC property.

Today the site boasts the first 123,000 SF Kroger Marketplace store in the state of VA, over 43,000 SF of retail shops & restaurants, and 400 apartments are currently under construction. At full build-out the property will contain over 300,000 SF of retail, apartments, 7 pad sites, and an office site.
