Overview

Modeling of a water distribution system for a 180 acre mixed use urban redevelopment area along the eastern shore of the James River in the City of Richmond. The model simulated multiple phases of waterline construction correlated with the phasing of the development. Phasing of the model allowed for efficient design of the distribution system in order to allow smaller, yet sufficient waterline diameters in order to lower construction costs and minimize any future potential water quality issues while allowing adequate flow capacity for domestic and fire fighting demands.
