Overview

Timmons Group recently completed a survey of the Jurisdictional Boundary line between York County and Poquoson. The line was established in 1951 and many of the original monuments that marked the line have been lost or destroyed by construction activities or erosion. The goal was to adjust the line to better align with subdivisions and changes in property boundaries that have occurred over the years. The Jurisdictional Line is approximately 1.8 miles in length. A field survey was performed to locate any remaining monuments and to locate property corners for those parcels adjacent to the line. York County and Poquoson negotiated the relocation of the line and Timmons prepared a plat to document the relocation. New monuments were placed to mark the relocated line and the plat is being recorded to formalize the change.
