Physician’s Choice Laboratory Services recently completed construction for a new headquarters facility and testing lab to support their growing operations. The $24.1 million dollar and 100,000 square foot facility, located in the Riverwalk Development of Rock Hill, SC, is comprised of office space for operational support as well as multiple laboratories for blood and urine testing. The new headquarters building will accommodate the growth of up to nearly 300 employees.
Physician’s Choice was attracted to the Riverwalk Development due to its walkable community concept that will allow its growing employee base to enjoy the many amenities associated with life along the Catawba River. They created outdoor patio spaces for the employees to gather and build teaming relationships that are conducive to their work environment. Additionally, the Physician’s Choice project is the first building within the Business Park to be constructed as part of the redevelopment of a previous textile mill property.
Timmons Group provided civil engineering and landscape architecture services related to the development of this facility. Design elements included a 300-space parking lot, loading docks for deliveries, and outdoor patio spaces. Timmons Group also provided design and permitting elements related to its construction as the site will drain to a regional stormwater management facility. This project included a very aggressive construction schedule in which Timmons Group was able to fast-track the design and permitting phase that would allow grading work to commence as quickly as possible.
