Overview
This project consisted of the design for enclosing a wide and deep open-channel watercourse that passes through the front yard of 214 Paxton Road in the City of Richmond. Erosion had a severe impact on this watercourse, causing the ditch section to become significantly wider and deeper as time passed, to a point where there was no longer enough ground cover over the property owner’s waterline to keep it from freezing in the wintertime. The proposed solution was to enclose the deepest and widest portions of the ditch within environmental permit limitations to allow for stormwater to be conveyed to a more stable portion of the channel downstream. The project also included construction phase services in which we assisted the City of Richmond with resident questions and inspection services.
