Overview
Timmons Group is providing geotechnical, civil, landscape architecture, bidding, and construction administration for the new Building S located on the Lee Technology Campus at Wilson Community College. Wilson Community College is planning to replace Buildings L-B and L-C on the Lee Technology Campus with a new building, identified as Building S. Timmons Group is providing all relevant site design services related to the design and construction of the new building. Basic site work required for the project includes the design of outdoor spaces associated with the building, including an entry plaza, new parking areas and connecting drives, connecting walks, utility connections, and landscaping, as well as modifications to existing parking and drives.
Geotechnical engineering services are currently ongoing for this project and include SPT borings by truck-mounted drill rig and laboratory testing of soils. These results will be used with our engineering analysis to complete a geotechnical engineering report for the proposed building on-site. The report will include foundation design recommendations based on proposed loads from the structural engineering team and pavement recommendations for the surrounding parking areas and drive lanes. We have been able to complete all needed fieldwork while school was in session with minimal disruption to the community college campus.
