Overview
Timmons Group assisted the Culpeper Department of Parks and Recreation in creating the Culpeper Community Sports Complex to provide a centralized recreation facility for the residents of Culpeper County. The development of the 135 acre tract included the development of a sports complex that includes multiple soccer, football, baseball, and softball fields which are currently available for citizen use.
Timmons Group completed environmental evaluations of the project area including a wetland delineation and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) confirmation for the project area. In addition, Timmons Group completed the regulatory permitting process with the COE and Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) for onsite wetland and stream impacts as well as a supporting roadway infrastructure improvement corridor and stormwater treatment improvements. Furthering our support of this project, Timmons Group proposed and constructed onsite riparian wetland creation to provide compensatory wetland and stream mitigation for unavoidable project impacts. Currently the Culpeper Community Sports Complex and the onsite created wetlands are completed and providing recreational and water quality benefits for the community.
