Overview

The City of Petersburg provides over 6 million gallons of drinking water a day for over 30,000 residents. Additionally, the City’s distribution and collection systems are comprised of 1400 miles of pipe, three elevated storage tanks, three ground storage tanks, two water pump stations, 19 sanitary sewer pump stations, and approximately 1300 fire hydrants. To ensure the safety and wellbeing of the City’s water and wastewater infrastructure systems, Timmons Group was hired to provide an immediate need for the management of their operator services. Timmons Group is providing a licensed operator to administer a monthly analysis of the overall water and wastewater operations, provided recommendations and corrected any problems founded. Typical upgrades to the infrastructure involved operational and maintenance issues as well as chlorination concerns. Timmons Group is also assisting the City with Operator Services training courses with City staff.
