Overview
Timmons Group has completed 2 different stream restoration designs on streams within Prince George County, VA.
- Cedar Creek – Reach 2 (stream restoration length – 898 LF): Reach 2 stream restoration was an urban stream running through an established development with homes backing up to it on both sides. Restoration was pursued at the request of the homeowners who were losing property and experiencing flooding impacts from the stream channel. Using Prince George’s stormwater utility fund, the County was able to provide funds for a stream restoration along this reach. Additionally, Timmons Group applied for and received a SLAF grant to provide a 50% cost share savings on the project for the county in an effort to reduce sediment to the Chesapeake Bay. Timmons Group assisted the County in obtaining new utility easements along the stream corridor as well. The project is currently under construction.

Restoration was pursued at the request of the homeowners who were losing property and experiencing flooding impacts from the stream channel. Using Prince George’s stormwater utility fund, the County was able to provide funds for a stream restoration along this reach. Timmons Group assisted the County in obtaining new utility easements along the stream corridor as well. The project is currently under construction.
