Overview
Cavalier Solar Energy Center is a solar farm located in Isle of Wight County, Virginia. Timmons Group Structural Team was tasked with designing the foundations for several components of the renewable energy site. Steel foundations for the solar components supported Inverter Skids, PV Array Trackers, Disconnect Boxes, and CAB Systems. Concrete Slab-on-Grade foundations supported water tanks utilized for irrigation across the site. During the design phase, Timmons Group analyzed site conditions and created pods of design based on soil conditions, reveal heights, and equipment loading. Additionally, Timmons Group assisted in the construction administration phase of the project by reviewing shop drawings and submittals, and by reviewing and responding to RFI’s.
