Overview
Timmons Group completed an ASTM Standard E 1527-13 Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) of the approximately 9.55-acre former Brabham Oil Company facility in association with its prospective acquisition for continued use as a rail-accessible holding yard. The ESA was completed out of the Richmond, Virginia headquarters office. Following completion, recognized environmental conditions were not identified for the site; however, the completion of an ASTM Standard E 1903-19 Phase II ESA was nonetheless requested based on the former and historical usage of the property.
Timmons Group returned to the site after coordinating with geographically positioned contractors to complete a ground penetrating radar survey ahead of collecting subsurface soil and groundwater samples using a Geoprobe® direct push sampler. Samples were collected in accordance with ASTM and industry standards and directed to a South Carolina licensed and EPA certified laboratory for analysis of suspect contaminants. Following receipt of the analytical report, the Phase II ESA was prepared for submittal to the client for consideration toward property acquisition.
