Overview
Timmons Group worked with Bladen County on a new 2-story, 70,162 square foot detention facility. The new facility includes core spaces for a total occupancy of 187 inmates (with additional accommodations for staff and support services). Core functions will include a new vehicular sallyport sized for buses, intake and booking areas to include holding cells, Magistrate area, Officers’ station, dress/shower facilities, property issue and storage. The administrative area includes records, public and staff toilet and locker facilities, training and fitness areas. The project also included a new E-911 operations facility and communications tower.
Timmons Group provided surveying, environmental services, civil engineering, and landscape architecture design services. We also managed the site permitting process and provided construction administration for the project. Our team coordinated with NCDEQ, NCDOT, the Town of Elizabethtown, and Bladen County to obtain the necessary permits for proceed with project construction.
