Overview
Timmons Group provided engineering support for a 1100 MW utility scale solar project known as Atlas Solar. The project will also include 1050 MW / 4200 MWhr battery storage.
The first phase of the project scopes A, B, and C scope is limited to the PV portion of the project and implementing a novel 69kV collection system from the inverter pcs transformers to a new 69 / 500 kV substation.
The project’s second phase, scope D, is for the Energy Storage Center and includes electrical design of everything from connection to the 69kV connection at substation to the Energy Storage Center buildings, batteries, inverters, cabling, and transformers.
The third phase of the project; scope E, is the high voltage collection system which begins at the 69kV terminals of the 690V to 69kV generation step up transformers and continues to the 69kV connections in the interconnection substation. Scope includes the physical connection of cables at both ends. Scope F scope is for the Interconnection Substation and includes the 525kV connections of the over-the-fence tie line into the adjacent DCRT interconnection substation.
