Overview
Timmons provided civil engineering services to an EPC wind contractor to support a utility scale wind project that lies adjacent to State Highway 70 near the town of Rotan, Texas. The project consisted of (20) GE 1.7-100 and (76) GE 2.8-127 WTGs. The site was relatively steep and required plan and profile plans for roads as well as individual pad grading for turbine sites in difficult terrain. The site also required micrositing of the proposed access roads and WTG sites. Timmons attended the micrositing visit with representatives from the EPC and owner. The civil engineering scope also included preparation of the SPCC, SWPPP, record drawings and detailed grading for the O&M site, substation pad, and laydown yard.
