Lawson with teaming partners Timmons Group and TS3 Architects planned and executed the design for Alexander at 1090, a 96-unit LITHC (Low Income Tax Housing Credit) apartment community in Richmond, Virginia. Teaming partners supported the design from early concept and permitting through project construction and closeout.
The community’s 96 two- and three-bedroom units are supported with high-end finishes, granite countertops, and high-efficiency appliances. Shared amenities like a state-of-the-art fitness center, dog park, bike storage, clubhouse, and ADA playground support residents’ active lives. Located in Forest Hill, the community is conveniently within walking distance of grocery stores, parks, schools, and bus stops.
The site design integrated a large underground stormwater retention facility that sits below the complex parking lot. As one of the last sites to be developed in the sewershed, the dense parcel also required a full utility extension, including utility poles and a sewer main.
