Overview
Timmons Group has a Public Land engineering division dedicated to providing professional services to state and local government clients under term contracts. Our firm currently serves over 55 localities across Virginia through a variety of on-call contracts. On-call services include surveying and site investigation, land planning, landscape architecture, traffic & transportation, stormwater permitting & monitoring, environmental engineering, site plan development and construction management for both urban and rural projects. Each term contract will typically have multiple, overlapping task orders with varying degree of engineering design and project deliverables. Our Contract Managers are accustomed to working for these clients on an “as needed basis” requiring quick response for the establishment of scope and schedule for delivering the required task orders. We act as an extension of state and local government staff to address project needs, large or small, and often upon short notice.
Task orders can range from preparing feasibility studies and assessments, drainage and sidewalk improvements, utility upgrades to full site planning, design and construction / bid document preparation. The following is a list of some of the on-call contracts currently managed by the Timmons Group Northern Virginia office, on which we are currently working on plan types including community centers, fire stations, BMP monitoring and retrofits, regional sports complex (with both natural and synthetic turf), passive open space and community parks:
