Overview
Henrico Doctors’ Hospital (formerly HealthSouth Medical Center) is a medical complex operated by HealthSouth of Virginia, Inc. The 25 acre campus, located off of Parham Road in Henrico County, includes a 200-bed full-service hospital, emergency room and three multi-service medical office buildings.
Since 1991, Timmons Group has been involved in the design of numerous improvement projects for the complex including the Support Services Building, the Day Surgery Expansion, the reconfiguration of the Emergency Room Entrance and the MRI Building Addition. In addition, several options for expanding the surgery unit were planned and designed, although not constructed. All of these additions and expansions have been part of the continually evolving master plan.
All of these projects have involved extensive phasing issues, since use of the existing facilities has been continuous throughout construction.
In addition to the design services provided, Timmons Group has represented HealthSouth through the often complicated site plan approval process of Henrico County.
