Commercial Coffee: Testing Our Swings at Topgolf Richmond

After months of excitement and anticipation, Topgolf’s brand-new Richmond location is finally open! Attendees of Timmons Group’s October Commercial Coffee event were able to tour the venue, learn about the project, and test out their golf swings by playing Topgolf’s signature game.

Topgolf Richmond officially opened to the public earlier this month. The facility features over 70 climate-controlled hitting bays (perfect for a rainy day like today), a full-service restaurant and multiple bars, private event spaces, an outdoor terrace with a stage for live music, and over 200 TVs.

If that isn’t enough entertainment for you, Topgolf Richmond will also be opening a full miniature golf course early next year.

Attendees heard from several speakers about the journey of bringing Topgolf to Richmond. Roger Rodriguez, Timmons Group’s Principal in Charge on the Topgolf project, spoke about the design process and challenges that were encountered on the project site. The venue’s Director of Operations, Clifford Twiggs, spoke about the unique features of this location.

After a guided tour of the facility, guests were able to test out their golf skills by playing a round of the venue’s signature game: Topgolf. In addition to golf, Topgolf offers a variety of activities and games (including virtual reality dodgeball!) to ensure that even non-golfers can have a great time during their visit.

In addition to Topgolf, Commercial Coffee has toured several other exciting Richmond region projects including VA War Memorial Expansion, The Market @ 25th, Richbrau Brewing Co., The Goodwyn at Union Hill, Tang & Biscuit, Richmond Volleyball Club, Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA) Richmond, the GRTC Pulse, and Barber Martin Agency. The goal of our Commercial Coffee series is to connect with the community and educate our guests on new projects that are shaping the future of our city.
