Timmons Group provided civil engineering, survey, and environmental services for a new 16,000-square-foot Fire and EMS station in Chesterfield County, Virginia. Situated on a thoughtfully designed site, the station provides the community with a state-of-the-art hub for fire and rescue operations.
The facility was designed to serve the surrounding community 24/7, with sufficient space to meet current needs and accommodate future growth. Special attention was given to site utilization, balancing functionality with cost efficiency while minimizing environmental impact. Noise and lighting impacts were carefully mitigated to maintain a peaceful environment for nearby residents.
In addition to living, sleeping, and fitness areas, the station features secure EMS storage, office spaces, and three drive-through apparatus bays designed to house primary and reserve vehicles.
Site access and grading presented unique challenges, which were resolved by optimizing apparatus movement and ensuring seamless operations for both emergency responders and the public.
