As students settle into the new school year in York County, South Carolina, we’re taking a moment to look back at several important school projects that have shaped the community’s educational landscape.
Serving over 9,000 students across 10 schools, the Clover School District (CSD) is committed to preparing each child for a successful, productive, and responsible future. The district values personalized education in a safe, nurturing environment through collaboration and continuous improvement. Recognized as the third-best school district in South Carolina by Niche, CSD continues to be a leader in academic excellence and student development.
Clover Middle School
The new Clover Middle School replaced the former middle school, which was repurposed as a 9th-grade academy. The new 1,200-student school sits on a 125-acre site and is one of two middle schools in the Clover School District.
Working with LS3P Associates, Timmons Group provided civil engineering services, focusing on site design, pedestrian circulation, car and bus drop-offs, landscape architecture, and utility and stormwater planning. The campus features an 8-lane track, football field, baseball and softball fields, and outdoor basketball courts, offering students ample academic and extracurricular opportunities.
Oakridge Elementary School
Oakridge Elementary School was built to accommodate 900 additional students, addressing the area’s growing demand for elementary education. Timmons Group worked alongside Moseley Architects to develop the site for this 103,500-square-foot school. The campus includes outdoor play areas, a track, and a multi-purpose field, as well as sustainable features like a permanent wet detention pond and a bio-pond. These additions help manage the site’s environmental impact while providing students with engaging outdoor spaces.
Timmons Group is actively contributing to additional growth of the Clover School District with two new school projects. The first, Lake Wylie High School, is set on Cannonball Run in York County and will become only the second high school in the district. The second project, Liberty Hill Elementary School, will share a campus with the new high school, creating a cohesive educational environment. Groundbreaking for both schools occurred earlier this year, with plans for them to open by the 2026 school year. Timmons Group provided a range of services, including civil engineering, landscape architecture, traffic studies, and utility extension design, to bring these projects to life.
