Timmons Group Earns Prestigious AASHTO Geotechnical Engineering & CMT Accreditations

Richmond, VA — July 11, 2024 Timmons Group is proud to announce that its geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing (CMT) services practice has earned several prestigious accreditations from the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO). The newly accredited services include Soil Specific Gravity, Direct Shear of Soil, Electrical Resistivity of Soil, pH of Soil for Corrosion Testing, and Thermal Resistivity of Soil.

These accreditations underscore Timmons Group’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and accuracy in geotechnical engineering and testing services. The AASHTO accreditation process is rigorous, involving thorough evaluations of the laboratory’s testing procedures, staff qualifications, and overall quality management systems.

A significant highlight among these achievements is the accreditation for Thermal Resistivity of Soil. According to the AASHTO Accreditation Directory, Timmons Group is one of less than a dozen laboratories in the entire United States to hold this esteemed accreditation. This places Timmons Group at the forefront of the industry, offering highly specialized and accurate testing services essential for the successful planning and execution of complex engineering projects.

Nathan Reeves, principal and leader of Timmons Group’s geotechnical engineering and CMT services practice, expressed his enthusiasm about the new accreditations:

“We are incredibly proud to receive these AASHTO accreditations, which reflect our team’s dedication to excellence and our ongoing commitment to providing our clients with the highest quality services. The accreditation for Thermal Resistivity of Soil is particularly significant, highlighting our laboratory’s advanced capabilities and our position as a leader in the field. These achievements reinforce our ability to support our clients’ projects with precise, reliable data.”
