Adding to the vibrant growth in the Monroe Ward neighborhood of Richmond, Virginia, Timmons Group worked with Pinecrest, LLC, to develop Parc View at Commonwealth, a new mid-rise, mixed-use apartment community adjacent to Virginia Commonwealth University.

The new development offers 168 one-, two-, three-, and four-bedroom units, 1,600 square feet of retail space, controlled access, a structured parking garage, and a rooftop patio atop the 15-floor high-rise that overlooks the city. Parc View fosters an active city that allows residents to live within walking distance of classes, restaurants, stores, and the famous Monroe Park.

Designed with students in mind, it features art studios, study rooms, co-working spaces, and a multi-purpose workspace to support the academic journey of students.

The project team received a Special Use Permit approval from the City of Richmond for the design. During construction, modern utility upgrades demanded extensive excavation and restoration within the roadway. To maintain the character of the neighborhood, the original granite curb corner and property marker were meticulously identified, stored, and placed back in their original locations.

Timmons Group provided civil engineering, environmental, survey, landscape architecture, and geotechnical engineering services for this project.
