Timmons Group Continues Growth with Office Move in Newport News

Newport News, VA – January 29, 2024 – Today, leading civil engineering, technology, and survey firm Timmons Group announced the move of its Newport News office to a new building that just completed construction in the Tech Center. Since 2021, the Newport News office has offered a variety of civil engineering and surveying services to clients throughout Hampton Roads. The firm’s footprint in the region was first established in 2006 with an office in Virginia Beach.

Timmons Group selected Tech Center Research Park for the move to better serve its clients and offer updated amenities to employees.

The new office is in Building 2, a recent addition to the 100-acre mixed-use Tech Center Research Park development that has proven to be a staple in the growth of the Hampton Roads region. The adjacent Marketplace at Tech Center offers over 250,000SF of retail, restaurants, a fitness center, and apartment complex, which played a large role in the appeal for the move.

“Timmons Group has a reputation of being a premier engineering and survey firm in the region, and we aim to grow that status by offering state of the art collaboration spaces and amenities to both our employees and clients,” says Mark Richardson, Timmons Group’s Principal in Charge of the Newport News office. “Our relationship with Tech Center spans over a decade. We were excited to continue to partner with great clients and the community on this investment, and we look forward to the persistent growth of Tech Center.”

Through direct connectivity to Oyster Point Road and Canon Boulevard, the move will provide ease of access to many of the firm’s local clients as well as longtime projects at Christopher Newport University and Jefferson Labs.
