Timmons Group to Develop Headquarters Office at Springline at District 60

Project will Bring 400 Employees to Mixed-Use Development Site

Chesterfield, VA — Timmons Group announced today they will develop a 150,000-square-foot office building to serve as their new corporate headquarters within the Springline at District 60 mixed-use project. The five-story Class A office building is now fully leased and will be the new home for 400 Timmons Group employees, in addition to employees from the Chesterfield County Public Schools and Department of Economic Development as announced last week.

Timmons Group is the largest engineering and technology company in the region. The firm was familiar with Springline at District 60 while serving as the civil engineering consultant for the project. With rising interest rates and changing market conditions, the timing of the office building was subject to delay. Timmons Group recognized that the Springline office could be an ideal site for their corporate headquarters and stepped in to keep the project on schedule.

“This new facility is the next step in Timmons Group’s growth in the region and will help achieve our goal of attracting and retaining the best talent for our business so we can continue to provide unrivaled service to our clients,” said Brian Bortell, President and CEO of Timmons Group. “Springline at District 60 will be an exceptional mixed-use community with convenient access to a number of wonderful amenities for our employees.”

“Chesterfield is extremely pleased that Springline will be home to the corporate headquarters of Timmons Group,” said Mark S. Miller, Ph.D., who represents the Midlothian District on the Chesterfield County Board of Supervisors. “Timmons’ announcement today shows a strong commitment to the development of Springline and continued community revitalization in this area.”

The office building is a key part of the master plan for the Springline at District 60 development on the former Spring Rock Green Plaza site on Midlothian Turnpike that was approved by the Chesterfield Board of Supervisors in 2022. The site is being transformed into a premier mixed-use community featuring apartments, retail, office and entertainment areas. Groundbreaking for the office building is expected in the 2nd quarter of this year and should be completed in early 2025.

Timmons Group will continue to occupy its offices at 14th street in downtown Richmond, as well as the geotechnical engineering offices in the Southport Commerce Center in Chesterfield County.
