Normally bustling with groups of people headed towards breweries, restaurants, arcade bars, and coffee shops, the streets of Scott’s Addition are oddly quiet at 7am. Once a month, Timmons Group hosts Commercial Coffee, an event series held on-site at new and exciting projects around the city. For our June event, we got an inside look at Symbol Apartments, a luxury apartment building in one of Richmond’s most desirable and ever-changing neighborhoods.
Once a major industrial hub, the large production plants and warehouses that originally occupied Scott’s Addition are now home to a diverse mix of businesses ranging from apartment buildings, restaurants, breweries, shops, and office spaces. One of the neighborhood’s newest additions, Symbol Apartments, sits on Scott’s Addition’s northeast edge and brings an expansive suite of amenities to their residents.
Sponsored by Spy Rock Real Estate Group, over 100 guests gathered Wednesday morning to learn more about the complex.
Now 100% leased, Symbol offers over 300 parking spaces for their residents along with a sun deck, pool, and outdoor lawn that is the largest green space in Scott’s Addition. The 2,000 square foot space is used for community events like outdoor movies, food trucks, and lawn games. There is also a rooftop deck overlooking The Diamond, home of the Richmond Flying Squirrels minor-league baseball team, that offers firework shows during the summer months.
Symbol is one of many exciting projects Commercial Coffee has toured recently with others including Richmond Volleyball Club, Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA) Richmond, the GRTC Pulse, the Village at Westlake, Barber Martin Agency, and Gather. The goal of our Commercial Coffee series is to connect with the community and give our guests an inside look and education about new projects and how they are shaping and changing the future of our city and surrounding area.
