The return of spring and warm weather means it’s time, once again, for Timmons Group employees and families to gather for our annual stream clean up! Through the Virginia Department of Conservation & Recreation’s Adopt-a-Stream program, we spent our SIXTH year in a row collecting trash and debris from the streams and woodland area near our Corporate Headquarters.
200 bags of trash have been collected over the event’s six-year history along with other interesting items like car tires and TVs. Collecting trash from these streams prevents it from entering the nearby James River and other connecting waterways.
This is an educational event and families are strongly encouraged to attend to teach children the importance of keeping their environment clean.
Before starting the stream adoption in 2013, years of litter had accumulated in this area due to its close proximity to motor traffic along Chippenham Parkway and Boulders Parkway.
