Thanks to Richmond landing on Forbes.com’s “10 Coolest U.S. Cities to Visit in 2018” list, we can expect an influx of wanderlusters through the capital city’s Richmond International Airport. And now thanks to Timmons Group, the airport’s road system is even safer for all RVA visitors.
A fresh safety upgrade of airport property involved all open-to-public roads at the airport. You might be surprised to learn that airport roads are privately owned and maintained by the Capital Region Airport Commission. The Commission called for Timmons Group to conduct a study of all safety signage, especially on the west side of the airport.
Tour around S. Airport Drive, through Terminal Drive, and on other airport asphalt and you’ll see new upgrades everywhere you look: curve warning signs, speed limit signs, and several solar-powered radar-feedback flashing signs. You’ll never miss a beat.
Timmons Group also directed the relocation of a large panel sign on westbound Clarkson Road, clearing sight distance for rental-car and shuttle-bus traffic making left turns (refer to image). All of this was in the effort of providing even more peace of mind in those few moments before unloading for your plane ride or returning home after a trip.
